I knew this would be perfect for the topic. Now I know I have that post that goes around the net from time to time about over there. I would love to add it to this to give people a good laugh.
Even to someone who can see, saying "over there" is useless. When I worked in retail, we were told that we needed to always take the person to what they were looking for, blind or not. So many of the employees never listened anyway and it annoyed me.
I've gotten better about giving exact directions that don't involve 'over there' because I can't get grumpy at people for not following directions that weren't clear to begin with. It's self serving, but seems to be better for everyone.
I enjoy your attitude about poking around on your own.
