This was made for tvrealm's My Realm challenge. I went with option A, which was to use existing tv characters and create a new universe using those characters. I chose to revive an older idea I had a few years ago.
Title: Let Love In
Description: After Cordelia gets a vision of Peyton's attack, Angel rescues her. The two form a friendship afterwards which quickly progresses into a romantic relationship. After a night of passion they share, Angel loses his soul and turns Peyton's life upside down. Can Peyton ever learn to trust him again? Or is their relationship doomed forever?
The Characters
Peyton Sawyer
Peyton is the protagonist of the series. She's your normal teenager with a damaged heart. After being attacked by the new guy in town, she meets Angel who could prove to be her greatest ally or her greatest enemy.
Angel
Angel starts out as Peyton's love interest. After a night of passion he has with her he loses his soul and becomes Angelus once again, making him the antagonist of the series. Or at least for a little while.
Episode Descriptions
1x01 Surrender - Cordelia gets a vision of Peyton's attack. Angel talks to Kate to find out more about the girl and her attacker in Cordelia's vision. Meanwhile, Peyton does some looking into the new guy in town. Angel and the gang head to Tree Hill, where Angel rescues Peyton.
1x02 Typical Love Story - Peyton and Angel keep in touch and form a friendship. Cordelia can sense Angel's growing feels for Peyton and convinces him to go see her. While at Tric, Peyton gets a surprise visit from Angel.
1x03 You Have Stolen My Heart - Peyton and Angel spend time together. Peyton's happier than she's been in a long time. She soon finds herself falling for Angel. She confides in Brooke about her growing feelings. Brooke tells her she should take a chance on him. Peyton invites Angel to the banquet and the two go together. When Brooke realizes Peyton still hasn't told Angel how she feels she confronts her about it. That night, after the banquet, Peyton finally comes cleans about her feelings.
1x04 Home - After Peyton confesses her feelings to Angel, he tells her he feels the same way and the two begin a relationship. The teens of Tree Hill gear up for the costume party at Tric later. After the party, Angel leaves with Peyton and makes a decision that has serious consequences for both of them.
1x05 Farther Away - After his night with Peyton, Angel loses his soul and becomes Angelus once again. Feeling angry and vengeful he targets Peyton's friends. Peyton's left hurt and wondering why Angel's acting the way his is.
1x06 I Still Believe - Haley's out of the hospital and home with Nathan. Despite all the heartache Angel has caused her, Peyton still loves him and hopes to still have some kind of a future him. Haley remembers who was behind to wheel of the car that hit her.
1x07 Give In To Me - Prom's coming up but Peyton's not sure she wants to go. After some persuasion on Lucas' part, Peyton decides to go and have at least one night of fun with her friends. Unbeknownst to Peyton and the others, Angelus is still in town and he's looking to cause trouble. This time he targets Peyton more directly.
1x08 Perfect World - Peyton, still hurt and confused, tries to deal with the aftermath of Angelus' rage. Meanwhile, her friends try to help her pick up the pieces of her shattered life. Brooke calls Cordelia to try and understand why Angel's been acting the way he has, only to find out something shocking and life altering about him.
1x09 Virgin State of Mind - Brooke confides in Haley about what she learned about Angel. She and Haley do some research to try and learn what they can about Angel's evil alter ego. Haley confides in Nathan about what they learned.
1x10 Fighter - Peyton's plagued with visions and nightmares of Angelus and the pain he's caused her. With the help of her friends, she tries to overcome her fear and fight back.
1x11 Field of Innocence - Peyton remembers what her life was like before she met Angel. Blaming herself, she wishes she'd never met him at all. Brooke tries to get her to see that it's not her fault, while still trying to deal with the knowledge of what he is.
1x12 My Immortal - Peyton's finally ready to move on but tries to remember the good times she had with Angel. Angel, who's recently been re-ensouled, returns to try and make amends with Peyton and her friends. Except he finds that Peyton's not ready to forgive him just yet. Brooke consoles Peyton after her encounter with him.
1x13 What Hurts The Most - Angel hates how much pain he's caused Peyton. He tries to apologize to her again but to no avail. Peyton's still not sure she can forgive or if she ever can. Brooke can see the pain they're both in and tries to help them find their way back to each other.
1x14 How Could This Happen To Me - Angel continues to try and mend his relationship with Peyton. Though she's still not sure she's ready to let him back into her life, she realizes she still loves him. She talks to Brooke, who finally comes clean about what she knows about Angel. Peyton's shocked but realizes that everything makes more sense now.
1x15 I Just Can't Live A Lie - After Brooke's confession, Peyton apologizes to Angel for not understanding and agrees to give them another chance. Though she agrees that they need to be more careful this time. They both know it won't be easy and that they may never get back to the place they were before but they're both willing to try.

Peyton stared out of the broken window of her bedroom at the motionless body of her attacker. She was still shaken up over the whole ordeal. She turned her head towards the man who had saved her. A man she had never seen before. Tree Hill being a small town, she thought she knew everyone. Nevertheless, she was still grateful for him being there when she needed him. Even if she didn't know who he was. "Who are you?" she asked.
Angel turned his head to look at her. "I'm Angel." he replied.
Peyton smiled softly. "I'm Peyton." she said.
At that moment she knew she owned Angel her life.

Peyton was nervous to say the least. The last time she had opened her heart up to someone they had left. People always leave she'd say but Brooke was insisted this time. So she stood in her bedroom waiting for Angel to show up. She turned when she heard him enter her room.
"You wanted to see me?" he asked, standing in the doorway.
Peyton took a deep breath and nodded. "I love you." she said, bluntly.
Angel smiled, "I love you too, Peyton."
"No, you don't understand. I'm in love with you."
"I'm in love with you too, Peyton."

Peyton lay curled up under the covers of her bed. She felt safe here, like no one could hurt her if she just stayed here under the warmth and safety of her covers. She didn't want to face the world or her friends. Not after what Angel did at Prom. She just couldn't face them. It was too painful. She blamed herself a little for everything that's happened. Even though logically, she knew there was no way she could have known Angel would turn out to be an even bigger psycho than the man Angel had saved her from only a few months ago. That seemed like forever ago to Peyton now. She always used to say people always leave but now she wished Angel would have just left instead of staying and causing her even more pain than she would have felt had he just left. So she'll just stay here in the safety and comfort of her bed until this nightmare was over.

Brooke couldn't understand why Angel did what he did or why he seemed to be acting so differently. Sure she didn't know him that well but she knew Angel loved Peyton. She just know it. You could see it in the way he would light up when she entered the room but now he just seemed so angry. Not just at Peyton but he seemed angry at all of them. She just couldn't seem to make sense of any of it.
She picked up the phone and dialed the number of the only person she could think of that might be able to help her make sense of all of it.
"Hello. Angel Investigations. We help the helpless." Cordelia said, when she picked up the phone.
"Is Cordelia there?" Brooke asked.
"This is her." Cordelia responded.
"I'm Brooke. I'm a friend of Peyton's."
Cordelia smiled. "Oh hi. How is Peyton?" she asked.
"Not so good. Actually that's why I'm calling." Brooke replied.
Cordelia's interest was peaked at that but at the same time she was concerned for obvious reasons. "Is everything okay?"
"I'm not sure. It's Angel. He's been acting... strange. Almost like he's not himself." Brooke explained.
Cordelia sighed. She was sure she knew what was happening but she had to be sure. "How do you mean?" she asked.
"He's just seems so angry all of a sudden. He ran a friend of ours over with a car a few weeks ago. Just last week he tied both Peyton and I up in her basement and tortured both of us. Do you know why he might be doing that?" Brooke told her, trying to explain what had happened these last few weeks.
Cordelia sighed again. She was afraid of this. "Are you sitting down?"
Brooke sat down on the couch then answered, "Yeah."
"Okay good. First, do you know if he slept with Peyton?" Cordelia asked, not really caring how it may seem.
"Yeah but I don't see why that matters."
"It makes all the difference in the world. See Angel's a vampire. Usually he's harmless, thanks to a curse some gypsies put on him which gave him back his soul, but whenever he experiences a moment of true happiness he loses his soul and becomes the vampire known as Angelus. He's a nasty little bugger too."
Brooke sat there listening in stunned silence. Never in a million years would she have guessed this was what was happening or that Angel was a vampire. A vampire with a soul no less. Yet as unbelievable as it all was it did all seem to make sense now. "Can you fix it?"
"Me? No but I know someone who can. I'll let her know what's going on when we're done here."
"Thanks."
"No problem. Just tell Peyton to be more careful next time, okay?"
"I will." Brooke said, hanging up the phone. Now all she had to do was figure out how she was going to tell Peyton any of this.

"Haley, can I talk to you?" Brooke asked, a little nervous.
"Of course. What's up?" Haley replied.
Brooke took a deep breath. She knew just how insane it all sounded but she needed someone in her corner. At least until she could figure out a way to tell Peyton the truth. Besides she wanted to learn more before she went down that road. "It's about Angel."
Haley tensed up at the mention of his name. "Oh?"
"I know why he ran you over with his car."
"Why did he?"
"Okay first, I know how crazy this is going to sound but I swear it's all true."
"Just get on with it Brooke."
"Right. Umm... see Angel... well Angel's a vampire."
"That still doesn't explain why he tried to run me over. Don't they usually just drink your blood instead."
"I guess so but he's not your average vampire. According to Cordelia, he's been cursed with a soul but whenever he experiences true happiness he loses it and goes back to become the vampire he used to be. Cordelia called him Angelus. He likes to torment the ones cares about the most. In this case, it would be Peyton."
"Still why me?"
"Because Peyton cares about you. You know hurt the ones she loves."
"I guess that makes sense. Do you know anything else?"
"Not yet. You wanna help me. Maybe we can find something on the internet about him."
"Why not. Might help me make more sense of it all."
The two left to see what else they could dig up. Haley just hoped whatever they found could help Peyton with the pain she was going through right now.

Brooke waited for Peyton. She had been holding this information in for a really long time and she just hoped that Peyton wouldn't be too angry with her for keeping it from her.
Peyton walked into her room, surprised to see Brooke there. "Brooke, what are you doing here?"
"There's something I need to tell you. I should have told you before but I'm telling you know." Brooke paused to take a deep breath. "Angel's a vampire. That's why he was acting so strange. I talked to Cordelia and she told me about some curse that gives him a soul. When you slept with him that curse was broken." Brooke explained.
Angel's a vampire. Those words keep running through Peyton's head like a broken record. As insane and unbelievable as it was everything seemed to make so much more sense now. With this knowledge of what he was and that it wasn't really him who did all the things that have cause her so much pain over the past few months, she found herself actually thinking she could forgive Angel and even give him another chance.
Brooke waited for Peyton to say something but when she just got a blank stare from her best friend she questioned her. "What's going through that blond head of yours?"
"Just that it all makes sense now. And that maybe I can give Angel another chance."
Brooke smiled, that's what she was hoping for. She had see how much pain they had both been in since he returned and she just wanted them to be happy again, like they used to be. "That's good. I'll leave so you can go talk to him." She hugged her friend then left.
Those words still running through her head, she sighed before leaving herself to go talk to Angel. Hopefully this time will be different, better, for both their sake.
