Critique Call

I have an idea I am thinking of adding along side the 'Round the Table' posts on Mondays. This would be a separate post, but done at the same time.

I'm calling it Critique Call at the moment and I'm thinking it will work like this:

1. I post the initial Critique Call post.

2. Those needing a good critique post a segment (I'm thinking around

I love it. Honestly, I'd love to have time to read and critique all the pieces that get posted for it, but I seldom do. Having just 100-200 words to critique would be much more manageable. Great idea.

Laudable idea & million points for coming up with it, but for me, not a chance! I'm too focused on my own writing; anything that might encourage procrastination must be avoided! I shall stick with random commenting where & when it feels appropriate or useful. :)

I'd say it's a good idea, but I don't know how well it'll fly. The community's quiet enough as it is. It wouldn't hurt to try, though, since you don't have to keep doing it if the community members obviously aren't playing in the proverbial sandbox.

I think the community is at a low point simply because for the last year I haven't really been putting the effort I could into it. I've been occupied with maternity leave. I'm hoping to pay more attention to it this year.

And eh, I can only try :D

This sounds like a productive addition.

I miss the "what have you written this week?" posts, though. Those are simple to do and very convenient. Have they disappeared, or am I just not catching them?

I've started them up again. There was one last Monday. Many apologies for the neglect I've drowned this community in over the last year. I hope to improve the situation this year.

Well, it's understandable -- last year had a lot in store for you. But you were part of my inspiration for establishing "regular" question or update posts for my blogs and communities. They're working better in some than in others, but it's a very good technique and doesn't require lots of extra effort to manage.

I like this idea. I often have a lot of ideas and no one to critique or advise me. I hope you go for it.
