Amazing, heartbreaking chapter. I don't know who my heart broke for more...John Smith or Rose. Literally choking back a sob with Latimer's reminder to Rose about the turn of the universe and what made her fall in love with the Doctor. But that wouldn't be the last sob because of this...
“You’d rather be with someone that can’t tell you he loves you?” John asked.

Rose held her head up in defiance. “It doesn’t need saying,” she said firmly.

John snorted. “You don’t really believe that, do you?”

Yes, I know it doesn't need saying because he shows her in so many ways...but maybe one declaration would be nice. You wrote that turmoil for both of them so well I almost didn't want the Doctor to come back. Almost. ;)
Of course John opened the watch. He would have done anything for Rose. This is such a wonderful story. I'm so glad you decided to write it.

But in all seriousness... I can't wait to see where you go with this. And I wonder if perhaps Martha's comment is foreshadowing, even if they don't think she is... she could be, right? Or... just ignore me. I have babyfic on the brain. So much so I made a manip and icons.
