I like this! It's a change to have a true outsiders point of view, and I think you write Nancy Drew pretty good. I am sad about Joe though. I can't wait for the next chapter!

I'm glad you think so, it's my first time writing her and I haven't read the books in years. I really didn't want to kill either of the boys, then decided I had to. Angst factor and all. And of course then I had to decide which one. I'll get the next one up soonish, Christmas break and all!

This is a stellar idea. I can't believe no one seems to have thought of it before! These fandoms fit together perfectly ( ... )

Nancy fainting in the morgue surprised me a little as well. I'm only nominally in charge of the plot, them characters just keep telling me what's going to happen ;) I'm trying to portray Nancy as trying to stay in control of what's going on, but not quite managing it. She's trying to stay cool and level-headed so that she can solve the case, but at the same time a close friend just died, and that's something that she hadn't bothered to actually sit down and wrap her head around before the morgue scene.

My justification for Nancy being able to throw Kaito is pretty poor. But she wasn't going to just let him wander off after flipping her skirt.

No cause of death? Mixed up in the BO? Whatever gave you that idea? *sideways glance* Anyway, glad you enjoyed! Next chapter in a couple of days probably!

LOL. Yes, characters love to wrench control of the plot away from the writer and begin penning it themselves!

Exploring Nancy in that situation is both really interesting and really sad. She probably hasn't encountered the death of someone close to her since her mother.

**nods.** Kaito should definitely never be allowed to just get away with that.

And I think I know what happened to Frank. I probably would have suspected before, had I not been running around multi-tasking while reading. But once I had the chance to think solely about the plot, I realized. Oh no! **hugs Frank protectively.**

I'm thinking Frank was Conan-fied....

Liking this even if I never ready the Nancy Drew books (Trixie Belden on the other hand....)

Hmmm, I've never heard of Trixie Belden. Well, I hope I can keep you interested!

Just discovering this fic now, but I'm quite intrigued~ Since I've never read Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys, I'm enjoying Nancy's outsider perspective more than anything. Plus, it's always nice to have a female teen detective on the scene. The tension of losing a friend and going undercover is great, too, and kind of reminds me of Veronica Mars. Can't wait to read the rest! Thanks for sharing!
