Thinking about selling stuff~

I've been thinking about this for a while, but all of the anime/manga in my room are going to waste and taking up space. I had a serious Inuyasha obsession, but this was... 5-8th grade or so. While I enjoyed a brief period of fan fiction after that, I just... haven't felt much pull to the series like before (or at all). I want to sell everything ( Read more... )

Naughty!!! In a miraculous turn of events, I have just woken from a good night's sleep to discover that you're still here?1 (or were, when you wrote this, which is still scandalous).

Anyway, last year I sold my Chobits collection except the figurines (they're just too cute) to buy extortionate Mana-brand jewellery & accessories to match my concert outfit. Even though that seems equally as pointless as having manga & DVD box sets collecting dust, I never regretted it.

I sold my Love Hina manga too (1 - 14) because... I never wanted it in the first place. Someone who knew I liked manga didn't know what to get me for my birthday one time, &... yeah. Also had nearly 20 volumes of Negima. Sold those. Ended up using the profit from these to finish off or build up series' I actually wanted. Like... Fruits Basket & Vampire Knight!!

I... probably bought CDs with the money as well.

haha, I had gone upstairs shortly before this arrived in my inbox. I was up really late last night. And guess who regrets it~

About how much did you sell your manga for? I was going to price the whole collection at like... $150 maybe... or if people wanted to split them up (which I'd really rather not do), then like... $7 each. Which goes the same for the three other manga vol. (Ranma 1/2 and Mink- which is the worst manga ever). You definitely got less than purchase price, right?

Oh yeah, and where did you sell them?

Tsk.

Hmm... I can't remember now. It was definitely less than the purchase price though. I checked on Amazon to see how much the individual volumes were priced on there, added them all up &.. reduced the price again.

I sold them on eBay~

I checked Amazon and ebay. Looked like a lot of amazonians were selling for purchase price, and on ebay... there were people who had 10 vols for 60-80 dollars. I figured people would appreciate a twenty-two vol. collection. The other thing I thought of was that people might be turned off by the missing #7. I should replace it, huh?

Hmm... and they sold okay? Did it take you long?

Btw, all that meant you should sell.

I've thought about selling stuff before, but it's suuuch a hassle! At least to me. haha, so I never ended up doing so. All my stuff that I don't read anymore is packed away into a box in the basement =__=;; That's why I'm picky about what I buy now.

Anyways, if you want to sell stuff, I say go for it! I'm not sure where you would sell it though. Ebay? I dunno. I know they have the option of "purchase now or best offer". So if someone was really interested but thought it was too expensive, they could offer you a price and then you could decide if it's acceptable or not...

It is a little daunting, but I gotta get rid of this stuff. I don't have a basement, and I don't want it sitting in stock for some indefinite eternity. I was looking through ebay, and all of the polices are so complicated. PLUS (and this is important) I have to be 18 to sell there because according to the law, a minor cannot enter into a legally binding contract. So... yeah.

I just applied for membership of this community called garagesalejapan, so hopefully I'll get in and can do a post there, just accept paypal only. Since I'm pretty sure about the prices for DVDs/shirt, I think I'll just try to sell those first and see what happens.
