How is it so hot in the middle of November? Please, someone tell me. It's dumb-cold at night and dumb-hot during the day...I wish the weather would at least make up its mind. I'm good and ready for some chilly days, perchance some rain. I don't want my new secondhand long-sleeve shirts to go to waste

They do have portable sewing machines, but they tend to be of cheap quality and break easily, and also can't stand much more than a few quick stitches (like to mend something in an emergency). Jessica's mom has one and it's definitely not something you want to do any actual permanent work with.

As for normal sewing machines, it varies. Like with anything, the higher-quality the equipment is, the more expensive it is. I'm actually thinking of asking my parents for one for Christmas, but I need to do some research first and see what exactly I want...I think beginner/midrange machines are a couple hundred dollars, with the sergers and fancier machines running higher.
