If you likes yourself some British mysteries I recommend the adaptations of the Lord Peter Wimsey/Harriet Vane stories by Dorothy L. Sayers. Nowhere else can you find such a quality angsty romance amidst murder mysteries between a british secret agent and a nerdy mystery novel author. I actually recommend you watch them in reverse order, though. If you don't mind the mysteries not being based on literature, I also highly recommend the currently-running Brit TV series Midsomer Murders.
