My uncle lives in Kazakhstan and speaks fluent Russian (since he works with people who speak it natively and his wife isn't so good with the English), and when I was a kid he brought home this amazing children's book that was all two-page illustrations with Russian text for the page on the left and English on the right. It was about this little girl searching for some MacGuffin or other through this pretty land of anthropomorphic Cyrillic letters and it was really sweet and had great art. You should totally try to find it, the dual-language thing might be helpful in learning. Unfortunately it's in a box in the basement and I can't remember the title. So really this whole comment is totally pointless.

I'm seriously thinking about it, mostly because Bill (the prof from Russian Lit) also teaches the Russian language courses, and he's an awesome dude. And then I would have bizarre trifecta of foreign languages to bust out brokenly on people: Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian! (Not that Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese would be any less strange...)
