Since 6 am this morning I've been listening to NPR's inauguration coverage. Regardless of your political affiliation, I want to let you know: President Obama will probably disappoint you

I was THRILLED to hear him include the words "gay and straight" along w/"black and white" in yesterday's speech about the necessary inclusiveness and unity in the country.

He's said he plans to eliminate "don't ask, don't tell", ya know.

I've heard him (and his people) speak of ending DADT, and DOMA, and providing some sort of tax and inheritance etc. equality for same-sex couples, but Clinton was supposed to be so good for the GLBTS community and he brought us two of those things that Obama's people talked about ending. I hope that 16 years later he can be better, but there is no way he can live up to the claims of amazingness or horribleness that the pundits claim. But if he can be exceed expected awesomeness I'll apologize in tis blog (To exceed awsomeness, he'll need to end DADT, DOMA, and force the Feds to recognize all marriages performed by the states, and stop the downward spiral of the economy and come close to balancing the budget.)

My point was that speaking about GLBT equality is not surprising from him.

I think that whether or not one is disappointed depends on what your expectations are.

At least he isn't Bush!!!
