"We Won, You Lost, Shut Up and Go Away" is what we (who believe in equality) keep getting told by the folks behind Prop 8. They're citing incidents that allegedly occurred to a handful of Proposition 8 supporters as examples of threats and harassment that should justify making the whole organization unaccountable to the public. And yet, with the exception of the "suspicious white powder" envelope, I have personally had every incident they cite happen to me because of my sexual orientation. Once again, the bully claims to be the victim!

And another thing occurred to me while I was mouthing off in the blog comments on the L.A. Times.

These people want anonymity for the bigots. And yet anonymity is one of the primary things denied to gays and lesbians by Proposition 8. Marriages can be private. Domestic partnerships cannot. Any gay or lesbian who wants protections similar to (but not the same as) marriage has to out themselves in a statewide database, while straight people can be quietly and anonymously married.

Of course, they can't see past their own prejudices, but I hope the courts can.
