wait i want to gush some more... 3rd re-read and i just find more to love. like Jim called it a prowl; Len called it premeditated foreplay on his generous days and Jim being a horny bastard on his ungenerous ones.. and this one And besides - Len was going to hold his hand, especially for the first initial poke. because well, hand-holding its just adorable. and this one too it was part of his life now, part of who he was. He was a StarFleet officer, a CMO, and boyfriend of James T. Kirk, Captain of the USS Enterprise. That was the life he had.

That was the life he was putting on his side. Putting anything on his back was out of the question, and he wouldn’t do it, anyway. He wanted the reminder. And scars were just that. Reminders.
