Interestingly I don't think I do know anyone like this, it was loosely based on a character out of a story I have where the main character is infested by a parasite that works it's way into his brain and then communicates with him, taking on the form of his teenage crush. I just liked the idea of making it ambiguous enough to be seen without the sci-fi/fantasy elements.
