Out the Corner of My Eye

I saw it again, there. A small speck of something just on the edge of my vision. What is it? Everytime I look to see it, it's gone and immediately there again right where I cannot see. I've tried holding my eyes open, I've tried scratching for dirt, I've tried suddenly turning my head. Nothing works
