Before anything else, here's a belated Christmas and New Year's greeting to everyone! I would've gone to this sooner but wrapping up 2010, then getting back to school immediately, took up most of my time.

So, what am I going to say now? I'd normally make a summary post on the past year (I'd put shallow resolutions on my planner too, but I haven't gotten to doing that as well), but I don't know where to begin! I remember starting 2010 under stress, so much that the first two weeks of the year were really awful for me. I thought of it as a foreshadowing for what the year would bring me, but it might've given me the opposite, I think.

2010 involved...a lot less crying as compared to its predecessor, that's for sure. I also think that my photography improved more, so it's reassuring to know I'm not moving backwards. I hope.

On that note, the past year also had me interning for the first time, and at Philippine Fashion Week, no less! Ironic how, the first time I go to PFW, it's on an internship! I'd also like to look back on the Numina Paradoxia contest I joined (for which I cut a class FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER omg 2010 is a breakthrough) since it brought me to the internship to begin with. Numina has a special place in my heart because it was the first ever contest I joined that I placed actual effort into. The competitions (a.k.a. presscon!) joined in high school don't count, because I was under pressure LOLJK. That cosplay photog thing that I won before doesn't count either because: a.) voting was via text, and I don't believe in winning under text voting and; b.) The shot I submitted was joke time and I only joined for the sake of joining.

I made an effort for Numina because I liked the prizes, really. I didn't think I'd win, but I'm grateful. That was one hellava experience, and has become one of the highlights of my 2010.

And how could I forget? 2010 also marked my coming-of-age, a.k.a legality, a.k.a "PWEDE KA NA MAKULONG", a.k.a. 18th birthday! Oh gods, this means 2011 will be my last teen year and it signals my friends turning twenty OOH BURN

In any case, I ended the year overflowing with inspiration, and the creative juices are still flowing! Just as 2010 was ending, I suddenly started making an effort to draw again, read books...the inspiration just kept on going on going. Since I have a couple of notebooks here lying around, I used one of them as a sort of 'inspiration notebook', filled with pretty little things that make me happy, or inspired, or wtvr.

This is the first thing you see when you open the notebook. This'll probably be my motto for the year, since I've decided to take a small break from all the fashion shoots to focus on more conceptual, dreamy shoots instead. That isn't saying I won't be touching fashion photography this year though! I still have maybe one or two more ideas that I want to execute.

I included some of my own shots as well. Mostly favorites.

I got three books for Christmas: After Dark by Haruki Murakami, M is for Magic by Neil Gaiman, and Castle in the Air by Diana Wynne Jones. I finished off the first two and am more than halfway with the last. Ah, it's good to be back to reading again.

Closing this post with a shot of Miso (whom I believe is in dire need of a haircut again). I hope you all enjoyed your holidays!
