[Today, our lovely Angeburger is sitting at a table with a cup of tea. Currently, she has a chessboard in front of her along with a book called "Knox's Decalogue" to the side. Every now and then, she'll flip through the book and then moves a few pieces around on the chessboard as if she's trying to mirror someone else's playing style.] ... Tch. ( Read more... )

i wouldn't put it past battler, witches and lores, mirage coordinated, ahaha.wav

I'm highly doubtful. Do you know anything about chess?

Ah...?

Ah, Reisen-san. Yeah, I'm just in the middle of trying to figure something out.

Ah, thank you. I've been going at this all day, but I still don't understand how he did it.

Battler understands Miss Beatrice's game. By extension, this means that he must also understand Miss Beatrice herself.

This, I believe, is where your problem lies. Not only do you have a prior bias against her, but the time you spent with her was too short for you to understand her character.

[KEYWORDS] ... Are you saying that I have to get along with that witch in order to understand everything? She's the reason why my brother, my family and I are all caught up in this mess in the first place! It's all because of her stupid mystery!

You know, playing a game of chess can't be too much fun all by yourself.

crawlininmytome January 23 2010, 20:51:52 UTC
... Are you throwing up a challenge?

I'd never back down from a challenge!

[Sure, Keiichi knows how chess works, but with no experience, he'd likely be easily beaten by a competent opponent.]

I'll give it my all!

I know my brother wouldn't cut corners by throwing out these rules if he became a Gamemaster. Unlike the witches, he's not as incompetent.

Unfortunately these rules also make matters predictable.

It's predictable if you're dealing with a typical third-grader detective novel.
