Yes, I'm still luking around these parts, jusst a tad too guilt-ridden to show my face. I know, I know . . . I swore off the guilt just a few measly months ago, but alas I'm all talk and not able to carry through on the action part

Was thinking about you this morning when there was a report on New Orleans and the continuing impact of Katrina. It was very shocking and I hope things are better for you.
Songs to live your life by?
Arcade Fire: Cold Wind Lavender Diamond: Open Your Heart The Holloways: Dancefloor
The last one might not be up there yet, as the album isn't out in the states for a while I think.
On the other hand if you have a couple of downloads you could go for something longer in a soothing classical vein like:
Massenet: Mediation from Thias (violin version, original and still the best) Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Part
Or a slice of upbeat Americana like:
Aaron Copeland: Hoe-down from Rodeo Bernstein: Overture from Candide
Oh, ecellent! Thansk for the recs, I will be checking them out. I'm always looking to broaden my rather selection.
Funny you should mention the Katrina thing. I'm doing pretty well actually, but the area as a whole is still pretty dismal. In fact, the house next door that has been abadoned for the past 2 years, is finally getting gutted - TODAY. we've complained to the Parish (Jefferson Parish) about it and someone is finally acting on it. The massive container for waste (delvered via 18-wheeler) arrived at the end of last week and the deomlition crew are on site today. Finally. . .YAYS!
Hope you enjoy Daughtry. As for me... well recovering from chemo still, but really not bad. And since you haven't been on LJ much, you won't know that my last scan in early July was clear. And that in two weeks is my last chemo! So all is well, Thank G-d.
Bon Jovi . . . I had downloaded some not too long ago, but older, classic Bon Jovi. Anything more recent than Living on a Prayer that you would recommend?
There's more recent than Living on a Prayer ?? Hee - kidding. I do love "It's My Life" - it's usually my ring tone. "Have a Nice Day" is a pretty decent song as is "Who Says You Can't Go Home", which sadly is now all over our airwaves -- as the 'official' 'unofficial' song of the wonderful NJ. (EW!) There is one song from their most recent CD, and naturally, I can't think of the name because I do not own that CD yet and havent' been able to actually down load my own music off I-tunes. Nope - all songs that I cannot believe are actually songs!! Kids - oy and ew.
Okay, so Who Says You Can't Go Home . . .the version with just the boys or the one featuring Jennifer Nettles? The little preview bite just isn't enough to tell!
Can't help you with the music as it's not my thing....but I wanted to let you know that you should never feel you can't just pop by randomly to say hi. Each post is a treat for us to be able to wave hello. And to know you are alive and well.

As for free music.... Well it depends on your taste. I like the Daughtry CD. Which song? Not sure. But it's all good.
