I seem to be drawing a blank on this one...science officer? Is it someone from Enterprise, which I've never watched?

No, although that reminds me that we do have a weapons officer (Dominic Keating, from Enterprise, is one of the Irish gangsters), although I don't know if we'll see him again or not.

I was referring to the fact that Zachary Quinto is set to play Spock in the upcoming Star Trek XI.

Oh, right, I heard of that. I think Zachary Quinto has done an excellent job playing Sylar, so much that I wonder if he's typecast himself as the psychotic serial killer and if we won't be able to see him any other way. Spock the serial killer is a wonderfully mind-boggling concept, probably up there with Elrond the agent.
