Remember all that whining about the annual report? It's available online, in case you want to see it. Go here--the link itself goes to a PDF and b/c I'm home on a Mac, the URL doesn't come up, so you have to find the Annual Report link all by yourself on that page ( Read more... )

I love love love love love that blankie. That is what I would like to learn how to do. I pretend that it smells like The Pink Blanket of my childhood (best-smelling object in universe).

Good because I was thinking of you when posting this. You can do this. I promise. The "hard" part is, well, two parts: 1) picking up stitches. Not really that hard if you have someone helping you be confident about where you're picking them up. 2) persistence. It's all knit stitch, all the time, and it can get a bit draggy. And there are other ways to do this.

And it amuses me to think of The Pink Blanket which looks in my imagination nothing like this and what does it smell like? This blankie is all cotton and truly very nice to curl up with.

I remember the goodness of The Pink, but not the texture! It may have been part-synthetic (everything was back then, wasn't it?) and my Gramma cut it into pieces because she thought it would suffocate me. The real best part was its satin edge. It smelled like fabric softener and my bed and summer air. Always.

One time I forgot my blanket and was going to sleep over at the house of my friend who lived next to Gramma's house. To prevent inevitable disaster, Gramma sewed thick satin ribbon all the way around a soft washcloth for me. Man, she's awesome.

That baby will be so stylin. Your red sweater for Otis is now on his toy mole--who looks very handsome in it. It was one article of clothing I will not pass on to friends.

I love that the sweater has a new, permanent wearer, and I'm so glad you like it enough to do that!

boo-hoo, crankyisgood is leaving town. I can already feel the empty space left behind.

But enough of that whining. Baby moderne looks great! How nice would an adult moderne be? Oooh, all snuggly on the couch. (Okay, how many blanket-type projects do I have either started or planned in my brain? Far too many.)

I love the baby blanket. This is the first version I've seen in pastels and it looks really nice. Great job.
