This is beautiful! What is this place?

(Oh! The furnace just came on for the first time this year and everything smells like toasted dust, which is one of the most comforting smells ever!)

thanks! It's a sculpture between the street by the EMP (Experience Music Project) and a parking lot, which lot is across a small street from the back of my workplace, on the Seattle Center campus.

yes--it's a strange and comforting smell. so hard to imagine the hotness and sparkle of the summer day of the photo.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that pic was how much it resembles an army of No. 2 pencils. (i.e. I like the pic.)

Thanks for the pushes to keep going with the gloves. I needed that nudge to work on my twists.

This pic is awesome!

They do look beautiful. I don't think I'll try a pair any time soon but you've reawakened my interest in picking up some alpaca silk. There's a great cardigan pattern using the yarn in an Interweave issue that I'm considering--there's a bit of cabling but not like the cuffs!

and thanks! I just love looking at the action in this picture.
