Day 06 - Favorite episode of your favorite TV show
Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space'
Recently, I started on a re-watch of The X-Files. It's slow going, because I'm getting it from Netflix and only watch one episode at a time while I'm working out. I'm only about halfway through the first season, but what I'm really looking forward to is the third season episode "Jose Chung's From Outer Space".
The X-Files has a lot of excellent episodes, like "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose", though as I mentioned before most of my favorite's are the funny ones, like "Humbug". Jose Chung is a delightful send-up of the whole alien abduction genre. It's pretty hilarious at times (Alex Trebek) and employs a very interesting narrative structure as it's retold through an author rather than simply shown to the audience.
You never know quite what is going on, what is real and what isn't, but it isn't frustrating (LOST), it's fascinating. It's the pinnacle of what The X-Files was capable of. Even if you aren't a fan of the show I don't see how you couldn't like it.
