The sun was in my eyes

The Naked Kitchen has been sitting on my harddrive for quite some time now, and for whatever reason I was on a Joo Ji Hoon kick yesterday. I would have watched some of my favorite scenes from Goong, but that would have taken effort, so I just watched this movie instead. I can't really recommend it, as I found it painfully boring, but JJH was a ( Read more... )

It nearly drove me insane waiting for SOMETHING to happen. I don't know if you care about spoilers, but here are some:

There isn't even any suspense around the hookup because she goes home and tells her husband right away that it happened. Then, of course, it turns out that JJH is the chef from France her husband brought over to help start his restaurant. But then, there isn't any tension from that because all that happens is they kiss once and JJH kind of looks at her once in a while. NOTHING HAPPENS.

Her husband only realizes something fishy is going on when they have a silly water fight and he gets all frowny-faced. Then he kind of slaps JJH around and Mo-rae decides to leave them both and JJH flies back to France crying.

But then maybe they kind of plan to have an OT3 in the end? I wasn't really sure, I was half asleep at that point.

Buh? That..makes no sense. it sounds about as interesting as My Sister, My Lover, which, you would think would be VERY interesting, as it's MatsuJun and incest, and which, instead, is merely very perplexing.

i do not understand you, Asia. DO NOT UNDERSTAND.

I absolutely adore Shin Min Ah, she can do no wrong in my eyes, even if she's not the best actress. I totally agree with you, this movie was kind of a bore and the only shining parts were the pairing of SMA/JJH (who were previously paired in Mawang and have such cute off screen chemistry). The movie went nowhere.

And yeah. That scene was painfully hot. As were a few other scenes (the one where she paints his stomach).

There was some definite potential for that pairing if they had chosen to DO anything with it. JJH's character was pretty adorable and it would have been nice to see him actively court her beyond kind of holding her hand once and randomly singing to her in a parking garage. The entire thing just felt so _flat_.

Being as spoileriffic as I am, I peaked ahead on the Doctor Who plot and I totally agree with you. Tori is going to go into a joy-induced coma. :O I will probably get to see it upon the weekend.

I really like your picspam; it is very sexy and adorable at the same time. Been awhile since I've watched any dramas but I started Ohitorisama recently. I enjoyed the first two episodes but I'm curious if it will end well; have you seen it? If so, advice?

No, I haven't seen it. The only currently airing jdrama I'm watching is Liar Game 2. Though, I've heard amazing things about JIN, so I want to pick that up soon.

I am sort of curious to see Naked Kitchen because I shipped SMA/JJH so ridiculously hard in Mawang so to see them make out is a shipper dream come true. But yeah, the movie sounds so dull...

All you need to watch are the first 15 minutes, because you get the hot makeout scene. Honestly, they hardly interact the rest of the movie, of course it felt like NO ONE interacted the whole movie. They kiss once more and she paints his stomach scar, but that's it. I was pretty bummed.

JJH looked FINE though. It renewed all my bummed feelings regarding his life choices. I would have loved to have seen him in a comedic role given the glimpses of humor we got in Naked Kitchen.

I need to watch Antique next... I'd have to gear myself up for Mawang though ;_;

The movie really does look gorgeous--at least these caps do. But infidelity and boredom are not my ideal mix, so I'll content myself with your picspam.

I think the director had a blast playing with light in this movie, it's definitely a major theme throughout. But it looks best in this scene. The rest of the movie feels kind of sterile because it is all so light and airy.
