As near as I can tell, Exorcist III made the wise choice of being a separate continuation of the first movie-ignoring the existence of Exorcist II altogether.

I need to watch E3:Legion again. I remember as a teen reading the book and then seeing the movie and being really disappointed. No Linda Blair?!? :-) But, maybe now that I've had time it'll be better than I remembered the way E2 was WORSE than I remembered!
I also have Dominion, the FIRST version of the unneeded prequel. I don't know if I have the strength, though. :-)
