I'm so out of the loop. So I guess everything on Pine is being redone for Condos? Wasn't the Bus Stop invited back and told they still had 2 years there? I don't see a problem with it unless they don't keep it still financially possible for businesses to stay. They offered the same thing to the Jade Pagoda, but Pearl was just ready to retire and moved on. I still miss that place....
the thing is, the people living in the 900 condos on Pine St will NOT stand for living over seedy, indie bar/restaurants. It'll have to be upscale restaurants and wine shops and safe things like that. Linda's is also in danger. Cha Cha might move to Des AMis' locale. Bus Stop, they're worried about money. ManRay is worried about transferring the *snort* spirit to another locale. Thumpers was also like the Jade Pagoda: burned out owners who found it better to take the money and retire.
I know. What's the existing community supposed to do? I don't go out on Pine Street to get a $15 glass of shitty chardonnay, which is what they'll be serving at the places beneath the condos.

That sucks. I mean, upscale has its place but there should be choices left in this city! U-Village and Belltown are for that!
