hey man, this is Chris, Sammi's bf, I just was reading your lj after sammi pointed to it *saying, this is a cool guy check him out* and indeed you seem like an official great guy... we have all been in the slump with terrible roommates, and there really isn't anything to do besides try to make enough money to cover everything yourself and hope that your roommate has the decency to reimburse you. As for a job, check out meijer or like hot topic, best buy, Panera Bread Co, I know meijer and Panera will actually give you decent hours and pay. Im not sure about your experience and stuff but what about like an office job?
