I am pitifully ignorant of Naschy's career, even though there's a whole podcast devoted to the man and his work.

That isn't too hard to believe, actually. If you've seen mentions of his films in the Psychotronic Guide and other such reference books, they tend to be rather dismissive, so you wouldn't necessarily have a yearning desire to seek them out.
