Barbara's sweater, anyone?

So, re-watching DW from the very beginning and now as a relatively experienced knitter, I find I'd like to replicate Barbara's sweater from these images. But, alas, no pattern available ( Read more... )

It looks like a cowl-neck sweater.

Actually - what about this one, just don't knit the cables?

It is alike around the neck, though i think the sleeves and bottom are a little different. I'll have a closer look at the chapters where Barbara's wearing that sweater and check it out.
Thanks!

I'm on ravelry, actually. I thought there might be something more barbara-specific. Guess I can rummage around there, too.

My sister and i are the only people i know who watch classic Who. I don't think many are watching One's era. ): You might be able to find a pattern written at that time eventually but i imagine that sweater was purchased, not hand or machine knit in the costume department. I hear that the BBC (and other network's) only response about knitting patterns is "We don't know" if anything at all. That looks like a very standard fitted raglan sweater, what i would wonder about is if you can find a turtleneck that's quite like that without making your own pattern. It looked kind of boatneck in one of those pictures to me.

LOL, people asked the BBC for knitting patterns? That is cool.
The turtleneck does seem simple, I think I figured out the width of it (on what it shows of the top shoulders) and the sleeves and end of it seem relatively simple. Any guesses on the color, though, I wonder. I think maybe bright-bright pink or pearl or white?

Aw, man. I saw a fabulous mod-inspired sweater like this not too long ago on ravelry, but now I can't find it :(. This one seems reasonably close -- maybe if you knit the collar longer and doubled it over?

This looks pretty close: http://www.freevintageknitting.com/women/colmin735-13.html
You'd need to use different stitches & gauge, but the general style is almost exact.
