Weeping Angels Costume

Hello, Fellow Crafty people!

I am having a problem with a costume that I am designing for this year’s Fan Expo in Toronto. It’s in August, so no rush, but I would like to get this done before July ends to be on the safe side, and give me a chance to practice wearing it.

Hiya! I see some other folks have already linked you to my writeup (thanks!). However, I'm actually going to advise not following that technique, because I got TOTAL WING ENVY from a couple of weeping angels I met at DragonCon last year. They had the most brilliant harness solution!

They made the body harness out of a backpack with the pack removed. Then, where they wanted to put a wing, they fastened a piece of PVC piping to the harness vertically - this was the only part of the harness that protruded through the dress, and it was quite hidden by the fold of fabric. Then they had a piece of small PVC pipe that ran along the top of each wing and then made a sharp angle to lie along the base of each wing where it would lie against their back. Then they would simply slot the smaller PVC pipe into the larger PVC pipe to attach the wing. It was SO clever and easily removed.
