I confess I'm not very good at writing out patterns (I'm rather a newb at reading charts) but here is my attempt for the first two rows. (I also get confused on where you should make turns in work if needed since I mostly crochet in rounds, so I marked those with question marks. ._.) These are in US terms.
Row 1
20 ch (turn?) 4 ch (turn?) 4ch (1 sc in 16th ch from start) (turn?) 3ch and dc across (turn?) 3ch and dc across 1trc in 11th chain from start 4ch (1 sc in 6th ch from start) (turn?) 3 ch and dc across (turn?) 3ch and dc across 1trc in first ch of starting chain (turn?)
Row 2
8 ch (1 sc in point from the previous 3ch you made in the square) 5ch 1dc in the trc from previous row 5ch (1 sc in point from the previous 3ch you made in the square) 4ch 1trc (turn??) chain 4 for start of row 3
I hope this makes sense?? And if something is wrong, someone else is very free to correct me. Good luck. c:
This part: 20 ch (turn?) 4 ch (turn?) 4ch (1 sc in 16th ch from start) (turn?)
Would just be "ch 28", wouldn't it?
ch 28, turn 1 sc in 16th chain from beginning, turn ch 3, dc 3, turn ch 3, dc 3, 1trc in 11th chain from beginning, ch 4, sc 1 in 6th chain from beginning, turn ch 3, dc 3, turn ch 3, dc 3, trc 1 in 1st chain, turn
*ch 8, 1sc in tip of square, ch 5, 1dc in the trc, ch 5, sc in tip of square, ch 4, trc in second chain from base of square
Then I think, to start the next set of squares
