Watching Heath was a lesson in heartbreak for me. His performance was so incredible, and to think we'll never see it's like again. And the horrible, inconceivable tragedy that for all intents and purposes the role killed him. It's just too much.
Otherwise I thought the film was enjoyable, but didn't leave the cinema screaming and bouncing on a high like I'd been led to believe. I preferred WALL*E :)
Yeah, as an actual film, it was hit and miss. I prefered both WALL*E and Iron Man, to name but two. But the performancs, especially Heath, were outstanding.
And with regards to Heath, he was so good, I actually kept forgetting it was him, which took some of the sting out of it. Although, yes, I really would have prefered a not-so-great Joker if it meant that he didn't push himself that bit too far. :-(
