Kirk/McCoy
Loose Lips Sink Ships by pathstotread (Kirk/McCoy, PG, 1304)
Summary: "He could not love this child any more if she were his own. Scratch that - she is his own. Genetics can take a hike."
Notes: So adorable. Kirk's interactions with Joanna are super sweet and I absolutely love this fic. It's a super cute way of introducing Kirk and Bones' relationship to the crew, too!

In Our Bedroom, After the War by incandescently (Kirk/McCoy, PG-13, ~12,000)
Summary: McCoy’s ex-wife dies, and her secrets pull him back down to Georgia. AU after the first year at the Academy.
Notes: This story is a little sad but hopeful and happy, too. And everything slots together just the way you know it's meant to with these two and the author has crafted such AMAZING original characters. Her characterization of Jim and Bones brings out all the best, all the little things that really make them come to life and remind you exactly what you love about both Kirk and McCoy.

Bloodborne Disease by florahart@DW (Kirk/McCoy, R, 1700 words)
Summary: For the prompt: There have been several fics in which McCoy worries about catching something from kinda-slutty Kirk; prompter wants to see one in which he does.
Notes: This is an excellent and touching story in which McCoy and Kirk have to deal with certain issues in their relationship.

Kirk/Spock
Spirits That Just Wouldn't Seem To Be Made Of Glass by thelilytriad (Kirk/Spock, NC-17)
Summary: From this prompt on the kink meme. Basically, Spock has spent his entire life being suicidally depressed, trying to find a perfectly logical reason to kill himself. Kirk finds out.
Notes: This is one of the most fascinating Spock stories I've read in quite a while. It was rather captivating to read a story in which Spock tried very hard to puzzle out where being half-human, half-Vulcan leaves him in terms of relationships. He finds that answer in Jim Kirk, and it feels like that's how it should have been all along.

This Rebellious Nature by keelywolfe (Kirk/Spock, NC-17, ~5,500 words)
Summary: Sarek takes a teenaged Spock with him on an Ambassadorial trip to Earth. This does not work out the way a father might hope.
Notes: Teenaged Spock is perfectly characterized - just young and vulnerable enough - and his instant attraction to Kirk is perfectly logical.

No-Win Scenario by singingintime (Kirk/Spock, PG-13, ~3,700 words)
Summary: For this prompt at st_xi_kink: "Kirk/Spock. Epic, epic kissing. Remember the transporter room S/U necking? Something like that. The crew is all assembled to bid their captain good luck on his crazy dangerous mission and emotions are running high. Just prior to energizing K is thinking he just might not come back and this will be his only opportunity for a taste of the first officer he's secretly!madly!inlove! with. Shock and awe amongst K and crew when Spock returns the kiss (and how!) because of course he's also secretly!madly!inlove! with Kirk. From the Princess Bride, 'Since the invention of the kiss there have been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind.' I want this to be that kiss. Desperate and beautiful, we might never get the chance again kissing."
Notes: A premise like this has the potential to be wildly out of character, but singingintime has written a deeply, gorgeously emotional piece, putting Kirk and Spock in dire circumstances without losing the sense of who they are.

Chekov/Sulu
Wanted to Hold by rubynye (Chekov/Sulu, NC-17, 5300 Words)
Summary: Hikaru makes a request and Pavel learns something important.
Notes: Lovely H/C fic with emphasis on comfort. And this does a fantastic job with some dynamics of this pairing that I haven't seen often.

Other
A Problem of Physics by noein9 (Spock Prime/Chekov, PG-13)
Summary: Spock offers Chekov a chance to just think.
Notes: Do not let the pairing put you off -- this is quiet and lovely and sweet, and it totally works.

Simplest Form by lizhowhp (Kirk/Chekov, NC-17, ~4900)
Summary: Kirk convinces Chekov to accompany him home to Iowa during a week of scheduled downtime.
Notes: This is a really interesting take on Kirk, and how he interacts with Winona -- the story feels very spare, but it's rich in details, if only you read between the lines.
