Dust & Shadow

When Sam and Dean are young children, a sample of the plague escapes from its lab, intent on shaking hands with everyone it meets. The years pass and the Winchesters grow up while the world falls down around them. Trained by their father to be soldiers, the Winchesters and a few others wage an impossible war against an invisible enemy that everyone fears. After a tragedy leaves them alone and left for dead, the brothers come to rely on one another more than ever before. Always close, they grow even closer despite the shadow of the Black Death that lurks in the wings, waiting for a turn to dance.
A stellar post-apocalyptic story with some unusual and surprising twists. This a vivid and harrowing tale with a near sentient plague that has a voice of its own. Tragic and beautiful story-telling brings to life a young Sam and Dean that are familiar and true to character but living under very different circumstances. Once I delved in - in spite of the warnings, gore and deaths - I couldn't stop until the very end.

Dance of the Damned

Summary: Bobby watches a dance that's never going to end well, but he'll keep the wolves from the door long enough for the record to stop spinning.
I love outside pov, especially from a character as wise as Bobby. This short fic manages to capture the essence of what the show is all about.
