After a bumpy period my life is settled now.  There's no problems current or on the horizon, and everything is going just fine.  Objectively I know this based on the evidence around me.  Subjectively I know this because I feel like I'm coming apart at the seams.

A few years ago the best shrink in the region told me I was "the sanest person I've seen in years" so there's hope. I'm holding on to that right now when I'm feeling wobbly.

My diagnosis was explaining why I thought I had it to a counselor who said, "Yeah, that sounds about right."

can ptsd also be brought on by emotional damage/trauma? cause if so, it would explain SO much of the bs my brain goes through at times :S x_x

The key is trauma-induced chronal displacement. Your emotional reactions to events never happen while they're occurring but always happen later.
