I was having a conversation about the meta in X-Men Legacy on Mike Carey's forum. Unfortunately that forum seems to be crippleware now, so I'm posting a synopsis here if anyone's interested.
I'm trying to remember the name of the sequel Cherryh wrote where an insectiod species got control of the Cyteen tape and genetic manipulation technology and used it to try to make humans more like ants. That got weird.
But tape-SF has been around since Brave New World.
It is enjoyable to see a Vertigo writer tackle the X-Men.
Thank you! Just click on the commentary and meme tags to see me blather about all kinds of genre.
It's been fun to see what a Vertigo writer does with the X-Men, like watching a childhood favorite grow up. I wish Marvel would give him more reign, but it's interesting to see what he's able to sneak between the edges.

all that talk of tape made me think of Cyteen - which certainly tackles the theme of legacies in interesting ways :3
