Wonderful stuff, I love the way you write Ianto. Great dialogue as well!

Thank you. The dialogue tends to come first.

I love this, especially the mining metaphor you worked in. Great fic!

Thank you. I wasn't sure how to write Ianto until I saw how big he was next to the others. "Miner's son!" *click*

That part really rings true for me, since I grew up in Wales West. ;) You know the joke about early immigrants to the US having been on the boat so long they stopped at the first place they got to that looked like home? Forgetting why they left home in the first place.... West Virginia and parts of Kentucky and Pennsylvania are like that, they got the miners leaving Wales. I grew up with the kids of coal miners, and Spousal Unit's father still works in the coal industry, though in sales. It just makes Ianto more adorable to me. :)

I grew up in Birmingham, on the periphery of the coal mines, the iron mines, and Bessemer Steel. Dad worked for the railroad. Dh & I get a pickup truckload of coal every few years for the blacksmith's forge in our backyard.

Really love your writing. I love how you've written Ianto and how Jack is still Jack, only lighter because he has someone to share the lonliness with.

Thank you. Jack's not going to get better overnight. It took him years to get this messed up.

"'Toy boy'? 'Office honey'? 'Main squeeze'?"

"Don't be daft. 'Social secretary'."

"O-kay. So what's on the calendar?

"Lots of sex."

Delicious story, simply delicious! Perfect blend of humor and drama, and so in-character. Thanks for sharing!
