Reading the comments in various places, I see no father of daughters among the handful of protestors. Good. It's wonderful to see constructive post-modernism generating excitement. I wonder what Nintendo thinks of it all?
Thought #2: this sort of has been done for decades in other media, but with them it's been a tedious process that didn't get much attention. Thanks to the nature of 80s video games, a good hacker can do it on a weekend and become a global sensation. That's sure to generate some much-needed conversations that move beyond, "Why are girls always complaining?"
On a related note, we started Animal Crossing: City Folk on March 1. That game has taken over the TV completely. Who knew paying off a mortgage could be so much fun?
