VERY sad ending... it was shocking when it happened, but in hindsight it makes perfect sense... kind of a "boost" into the 7th book. It also makes the situation a lot more desperate. We can talk more in detail at work.. I don't want to ruin things for people.. lol.
In general, I think the book was a small step down from the previous three. The whole school year has become sort of a routine for Rowling to write. The cool moments in classes, the holidays, the Hogsmeade trips, etc. all seem less inspired than they did in, say, Prisoner of Azkaban. Outside the Hogwarts parts though, the action is just as exciting as always.
I didnt really like the 6th one until about page 400 and then it picked up. I think with the 7th they probably wont even go back to school, or maybe the action will happen over the summer and then the trio with triumphantly return to school. Who knows, J.K. left it open for anything.
wow...thats a good enough graph for me..i can't even read it but i'm amazed by it.
being in Cali/nevady (hahaha) i haven't yet gotten the 6th book!!! I'm dying to read it but I have Great Expectations on my summer reading list and unfortunately bestowed the goal of finishing that before even buying HP6 so I'm not tempted...isn't that awful!!?? Well its actualy pretty good for me but still i'm dying to read it even though people have different opinions on it. i'm sure it'll be great
GE is slow to begin with, but it picks up when he moves to the city and meets Magwitch again.
I actually recommend that after you finish all of your summer reading assignments and class discussions dealing with it that you rent the recent film version. It's an interesting different take on the book, but don't watch it until after you're done with it in school because the details of the book and film might blur in your mind and confuse you into answering questions incorrectly. It's really well-cast...
great thanks! HAHA the next day @ the airport my aunt bought me the book and I cried!! (i finished it of course and put a halt on all GE and summer reading assignments...whoops) gotta go do that after I catch up on everything...ridiculous
