Hi Guys,

I've been studying Chinese for about a year now and I know I need some more tunes in Chinese on my ipod. Right now I only have one song Huo Yan Jia by Jay Chou. I'm brand new to C-music so what do ya'll suggest I start with.

P.S Yes I am from Texas XD

I guess it all depends on what genre/style of music you like, though at the moment I believe most huge stars are heading in the same direction. If you like Jay Chou then I suggest Jolin Tsai, Leehom Wang, Elva Hsiao, Show Luo, Nicholas Teo and possibly Wilber Pan or Vanness Wu.

If you don't mind listening to what I would describe as 'bubble' pop there are Angela Zhang, Cyndi Wang, Rainie Yang and Guo Meimei. On the other hand, there's the more rock/metal styles like ENERGY, Stanley Huang, Jam Hsiao and Evan Yo.

What quick replies! Thanks I will definitely look into them. Do you know of anything more traditional sounding?

i really love vanness wu, wang lee hom, Fahrenheit, JJ lin, and Tank~
but if you can sing along to Jay Chou's 蛇舞(snake song) it really helps to pronounce~

Have any of you all ever heard of a song called "mouse love rice"? A little boy was singing it in a Chinese movie I saw last night and I had to have it.

Glad that you like it! =)

My friend's been studying Chinese for a year too, and she said that song was "easy" for her (she could recognize and understand some lyrics).

That was really beautiful. Is there anymore to the story though? Is it a made up story or was it something true to life for the artist maybe?

Also, in the PV, what does she say at 5:51, when her eyes close, over the phone? I don't see a translated sub for it at that point.
