On this date in 1773, the Sons of Liberty protested against the British Tea Act by dumping 342 crates of tea bricks into Boston Harbor. In total, they dumped about £10,000 ($19,692) worth of tea into the harbor. That's roughly £108,430.26 ($213,520.86) in today's economy!
