I remember when this was all over the radio. I even remember the video..it was hilarious! Paul poking fun at himself as a Beatle, if I remember correctly.
I remember reading in "Lennon Remembers" John saying that "Paul's heart must have sunk" when he overheard some fight going on in the office about no-one wanting his brother-in-law for a manager.
It struck me that John said this (and felt it) at a time when they were supposedly at each other's throats.
It's like a marriage ending between two people who still love each other: they can't help but be empathetic to how the circumstances are affecting the other.
True. He could have coldly ignored how Paul was feeling at the time, yet, he was still so "married" to how he felt..enough to be aware of it or to ponder of it. I mean..that's love, right there..that he cared enough to be concerned of his feelings.
