I'm trying to get a membership at the W3C. They make it sound daunting!

I spent all day yesterday redesigning my site. The server appears to be stuttery, right now, but I think that'll pass within the day. I'll eventually have to change hosts, but not until I'm making a much larger amount of cash ( Read more... )

Hmmm... they don't have any SSD's with an IDE connector, suitable for older notebooks such as mine (3 years old, and still doing fine). Too bad; that's a potentially large market that they're not serving.

The prices are at that "just wait for another year" cusp... 16 GB of flash memory is around $32, so when the SSD prices drop from the current $80-95 down to similar prices (why are they charging so much extra, just for a different interface?!) I would convert.

It's the controller that costs a lot, really. If you were to separate the flash from the rest of the drive, the costs of the flash would be approximately equivalent ( ... )
