☓ Name: Itsuhito "Hades" Hadesu
☓ Series: Hokenshitsu no Shinigami
☓ Reference: listed as a WSJ series but otherwise doesn't have a wikipedia entry. There's a stubby wikia entry, a myanimelist page, and it's up on mangafox for reading, but it's only half-scanlated with recent chapters and isn't terribly popular yet. :(
☓ Canon point: Chapter 32, after visiting Salon Yggdrasill

☓ Personality: Hades is, first and foremost, a regular human. We can't forget that, from the beginning! He was possessed by a parasitic byouma (a disease demon) that hasn't been explained in-depth yet, but byouma tend to prey on people with strong emotions similar to their own nature and "help them out". Hades' byouma is one that feeds on the host and on other byouma, which has given Hades the power to absorb byouma possessing others. It's a rare ability, as said by some of his old classmates that he visits once at Salon Yggdrasill. The byouma's ability is further explained below in the abilities section, but pertaining to his personality, he doesn't wish to have his own byouma removed. It's entirely possible, with Salon Yggdrasill's abilities, but he chooses otherwise so that he can continue to help others, despite what it does to his body. This, more than anything I could possibly put in words, shows his character and the depth of his kindness and convictions ( ... )

It's revealed as a dream of his to be a popular teacher and for people to find the infirmary he created to be a place of solace and rest, that people can use cheerfully and feel rejuvenated. His dreams stay simple and fairly pure for an adult, wanting only to help others and know that they're comfortable and feel better because of something he did, whether directly or indirectly. He's eager to please and will do anything possible to help others in any way whatsoever, which is both a strength and a weakness to his character. He's very mild-mannered and polite, dresses in simple yet clean and fashionable clothing, and is one to stay on top of keeping his areas tidy and sanitary. It's unknown what his living conditions are, but they're probably just as clean, tidy, and simple as he keeps his appearance and his work office. He's incredibly gentle with others and will go out of his way to make them comfortable, such as bringing fresh flowers and stuffed animals in to a patient's bedside to make them more comfortable. ☓ Weaknesses:
  • CHILDREN! Hades is terribly kind-hearted and gentle, apt to drop whatever he's doing to help someone. He's especially weak to kids, being that he works at a middle school, and hates to see anyone suffering to any extent. He's especially easily manipulated by children and will submit to their demands immediately.
  • LACKING COMMON SENSE! As mentioned above, Hades is a bit weak-willed when it comes to others and will try to help them with anything they need, and is incredibly gullible. One of the students actually told him that he needed to skip classes periodically or his health would deteriorate, so Hades allows him to sleep in the infirmary and keep snacks/books/etc in there. He's easy to fool, and easy to manipulate, whether it's getting him to buy you things, getting him to cover for you skipping class, or something a little more important. He's incredibly eager to please and will do just about anything for anyone.
  • OTHER PARASITIC BYOUMA! Not that he'd run into any on the island, but some other parasitic types will ( ... )
