I'm looking for a new gaming laptop. I installed Aion and it became painfully obvious how much my current one is starting to lag behind. I'm posting this here mostly to keep track for my own benefit but if anyone knows enough about computers to want to chip in their opinion, feel free :) Going to cut as it's pretty long.

The G71 was a best Buy exclusive (so it is exactly totally non-changeable); it's pretty well discontinued, but if you pick around you can find one. It's 1300. I just bought my store's shelf display for Dragon Age. The keyboard's somewhat stiff, but the 260M is fucking ridiculous. Good on power comparatively over dual SLI nVidia or crossfire ATI cards. :p

My old gaming box was a Gateway, and it was quite good; the newer incarnation, I am sure, is also good. The 9800 is a bit on the cheap side, but it is the gold standard for video hardware and will remain that way another year.
