Covert Affairs - Cancelled after five seasons

After five seasons, the NBCUniversal-owned cable network has opted to cancel the spy drama starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Sources tell THR that the renewal came down to a business decision, with the show's live-plus-same-day ratings ultimately being the deciding factor.

I'm not entirely surprised. This season was really good, but I almost stopped watching during season 4. Oded Fehr showing up as much as he did was probably the main thing that carried me through that season, lol. And the promos for it haven't been good--I almost missed the start of both "parts" of the season--thank god for TiVo season pass, or I wouldn't have seen some of the episodes.

Still, I wish they'd given us a finale, and not just cancelled it like this. That's not cool at all.

Not from the sound of that article. Maybe the execs will greenlight a finale, though? All the other USA shows seem to have gotten one, but I think they also got cancelled before their seasons finished.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised. This past season was very lackluster. I feel like they lost something when they broke up Annie and Auggie.
