Bras suck to buy.

Why is it that every bra maker just assumes that if you've got a big cup size, you're gonna want a minimizing bra? No, I'd really rather not walk around with a uni-boob, or smash them into my armpits - I've got big tits, and I rather like showing them off.

Conversely, the larger tits are, the more they will weigh, unless they're made of cotton ( Read more... )

I have the same problem with finding decent bras that aren't grannyish. Where did you get that black bra in the pic from?

Sometimes I'm able to find some decent bras on the Fredericks of Hollywood website, but I'm not sure how far up the sizes go, and which size you're looking for.

Both Lane Bryant, both convertible bras. The black one actually has a plastic convertible back piece so that you can wear low backed shirts, as well as plastic/rubber straps (that snap like twigs under my jubblies):

They're pricey, but they last a while.

I just ordered one in black, and the second at half price in white. I've been wanting a decent cleavage bra and its not easy finding one in a 42D. Thanks!

Have you checked out Avenue.com, barenecessities.com, or hipsandcurves.com ?

That's what inspired this post - the bra-fitting journey one of them is on.

I hate bra shopping, so I only shop for bras online now. That way I can try them on at home, try them with different types of tops and a setting that is less ugy than a store's dressing room.
I buy most of my bras from http://www.herroom.com/ . They have a great selection of styles and sizes, from granny to graphic. :)
Good luck!
