Can I be lame and just say Ditto? Probably not.. this whole message goes both ways. I'm pretty much positive that in your case, the support goes both ways. The people that are worth the time and went through all of that with you have also received similar support from you over the years. This is one of those two way streets, just like parents and respect, it is earned not freely given just because! I'm glad you've found some personal strength! And I really like the "metaphor" of the past coming over for tea (whether or not the past decides to be well behaved), something about it is just right and poetic.
