It wasn't that she didn't love Matt -- she did. In fact, she loved him quite a lot. The products, perhaps, of having been married and raising children with him. Unfortunately, it just so happened that the marriage and the children were with another Matt entirely. Where else would he be? It wasn't like Matt had much of a life around here beyond Daphne. But that was already more of a life than he'd had before dying (not counting work, of course), so he figured that he was still in the black on that count, at least for the time being.

"Yeah, coming," he called, already opening the door. "Hey."

Daphne quickly forced a smile as he opened the door. "Hey," she replied, a little too brightly. "Uh, you...wanna go for a walk or something?"

Matt didn't need to be a mind reader to notice that something seemed up with Daphne (more so than usual, even), but he wasn't an impatient guy. If it was important, he was sure he'd find out about it sooner or later. Probably sooner, since 'wanna go for a walk' seemed like her version of 'we need to talk'. Well, at least that damn horse wasn't around.

"Uh, yeah, sure, just let me get my shoes on," he said, voice a calculated mixture of friendly and curious.
