Well look at all the icons that don't have borders! They stand out good. Sometimes borders end up confining the image and it just doesn't really fit. I guess it's a matter of preference, but it's always to your advantage to be flexible~

Ahahah xD Umm, most icons use default fonts~ Times new roman, ...something gothic...etc.

Aaaah, usually, I don't even notice my own borders except when I make them really stand out.

When I use my fonts in an icon, it never really looks nice to me. I think photoshop's retarded. Or I'm retarded. Or some combiination of the two.
