I am having a university selection/ programme selection crisis. Again. Supposedly francophone teachers are the only teachers that there are never enough of here, so in order to get a teaching job after university and whatnot, I would have to keep up my French. Oh gosh, as soon as I get out of highschool I'm never taking french again. Years of french immersion have killed any sort of love for the language that I have. It only gets rekindled when watching french films or when listening to the french members of my family speak. Learning the same conjugations year after year doesn't excite me at all. My dad's a french professor at U of T though, so if for some reason you decided to go there I know you'd be in good hands.

Given the quality of french-teaching that goes on in french-immersion and regular schools, I'm not very surprised at your french-dropping plan. It's really hard to enjoy a language outside its cultural context, ergo my hatred of spanish.

And in spite of U of T's stellar reputation it's too close to home (Oakville) for me to seriously consider going there. I'm sure I would love being taught by your father, though.
