I vidded all parts with 100% sincerity---I was crying for the POOR MONKEY SAM as I vidded it, so I'm really glad to hear you found it moving.

I really miss Sam and am worried about the state of his poor monkey in a cage soul.

I've been out of SPN since the end of S5, so that might be contributing to my confusion, but could you elaborate on the third part? I get the first two parts, but I don't understand if the third part means all that teeth-gnashing is ridiculous and not healthy, or if it's supposed to be all that fretting made "real", rather than using Dean and text to communicate it? It's clear you put a lot of time and energy into this, so I'm hoping to understand it more fully, even if the fandom boat has mostly sailed for me. ;)

Hi! Hello and thanks for commenting. The third part was supposed to make the fretting "real." The actress was instructed to believe in the character 100%.

However, the tone was also supposed to be darkly humorous, of a self-deprecating brand of humor. (The OFC was intended to read as a version of myself, which is why I used the shoes from my default icon.)

It was not intended to be malicious or harshly judgmental, and I hope it doesn't come off that way. That being said, vids are pretty blunt instruments, and I may have failed miserably and been unintentionally insulting.

I think the fannish boat sailed for a lot of people when the boys were estranged over multiple seasons. I'm actually enjoying this season but I found Sam's lack of soul pretty depressing to watch, and it made SPN canon less of a comfort than it has been in the past for me.

Thank you very much for the added explanation--it helps gel the last part for me a lot. :) The shoes, I see now! I wasn't personally offended at all, just curious. And, yeah, the show changed a lot. It was much harder for me to watch when I couldn't find much left to like in the characters themselves.
